Student Board Member Recruitment
Board Member Responsibilities:
Initial Training: Conducted in a hybrid format using Canvas modules and in-person sessions at the beginning of the fall semester.
Ongoing Development: Bimonthly roundtable meetings throughout the academic year to enhance skills for effective service on the Student Accountability Board.
Training Attendance: Members are expected to attend all training events or provide advanced notice of absence.
Collaboration: Members must be willing to work together and engage in productive conversations to build consensus.
Critical Thinking: Essential for impartially evaluating conflicting facts, perspectives, and evidence.
Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of all case information and student records.
Compliance: Respect and adhere to local ordinances, state laws, federal laws, and university policies.
Flexibility: Student members serve on hearing panels as their academic schedules permit, with cases ranging in complexity and severity, requiring flexibility in service.

Who Can Join? Any undergraduate or graduate student in good academic and conduct standing is welcome; prior policy violations with the Student Accountability & Conflict Resolution office do not disqualify you.
